16th June

Weather looks good

A splendid night in the pub and as it was 2 steaks and a bottle of decent red wine thrown in for £20 we had steak .. Lot of good chat with pals from both the north and south of England .. Furthest travelled competitor came from Chelmsford.. An early bed and a walk back to Hetty on the sea front as the sun was setting ..The Isle of Man ferry could be seen coming into its base at Heysham and a yacht under sail going into Fleetwood marina…

We woke to sunshine so let the competition begin ..26 entries The wind all over the place ..but after a full and interesting days sailing The Driver took second place over all and The Cooks boat which was lent out to Peter Baldwin came in in third position ..

That’s it for the mini adventure .. Perhaps there will be more summer outings soon …

Panning gold in the Yukon..Pacific island hopping ..Far east and so on ..John won't go to India but I managed to get him to Morocco and Sri Lanka but didn't expect a Tsunami.

  1. Lovely sunset photos, Susan. Glad to see you and John are out and about – despite the weather. I’ve been reading about flood alerts and Sam’s talking about building an ark so I guess the hanging baskets don’t need watering! We’re in Greece for a month on Skiathos (northern Sporades, Mama Mia country). Alas it’s 28C ….

      1. Excellent idea – back on Friday 5th July. Will look forward to it!
