HETTY GOES BACK TO CÁCERES

What were we thinking of the last time we were here in Caceres which is over four years ago.. We didn’t go into the town … why .. I think we were touristed out ..after our trek south visiting so many glorious cities naming but a couple Leon ..Avila .. Salamanca ..Zamora ..The Villages of Mogarraz.. La Alberca and Miranda Del Castanar in as many days.. so it seems we couldn’t be bothered with a walk into Cáceres for the Aire by the park .. I’m so glad I felt guilty about leaving with out visiting and said to The Driver we must make amends and go back over the border for a visit which also coincided with a fuel fill up and as the diesel is cheaper in Spain it didn’t take any persuading on my part to get The Driver back across the border Portuguese fuel is at least 20cents per litre more expensive…

The Aire in CÁCERES was jammed .. one place left other than the one nearest to the loo dump and no one wants to park in that one…

A walk into town and yes it was up and up but not as up as previous villages .. Still a cardio workout for The Cook who has a bad back 😱

What a treat What a lovely old town .. very much on the style of Sienna in Italy.. Palaces ..Churches ..

THE CATHEDRAL

THE TOWER CLIMB THAT NEARLY KILLED THE COOK

Lovely squares and more up in the Cathedral to the bell tower ..

The Cook nearly didn’t make it this time ..But after a beer in the main square we resurrected her .. and back to Hetty ..Supper and an early bed .. 9pm .. Knackered
