Zafra…. An overnight stop on the way to Seville
By John
After an uneventful journey from Cereras on dual carriageway Susan happy . We arrived in a strange car park , around a very unusual building pear shaped in plan ,which allowed parking and a Motorhome service point . We parked up had lunch and went for a stroll using the satnav for directions. Not very welcoming as many fairly run down apartment blocks everywhere . However we persisted and found the Town square which was lovely with some palm trees and a fountain . This was surrounded by streets of old white painted houses with large doors and hanging geraniums from balconies . We could see through some entrance lobbies to internal flower filled courtyards.
We returned to the town square sat and had a beer with tapas salad and watched the town come to life at 5o’clock.
Susan was determined to find the Parador ,which was in a converted palace ..very nice ,we went in for tea and coffee in its courtyard, then strolled back to Hetty through a much more salubrious part of town. See photos
