IT and electrical interlude ..A post by John

We had by Tuesday nearly used up our UK roaming abroad kindly provided for £3 per day by Vodafone from our normal UK package. We decided to buy a local sim for Susan’s phone , upon investigation the hypermarket where we bought the water had a phone shop, BUT it only re-opened after lunch , in Spain this meant 17.00.
So off to McDonalds for a coke and free wifi and an update with family.
Then back to the shop to buy a sim, this took 2 1/2 hrs due to Spanish identity rules including passport and 4 signatures. They then had to port the number to a micro sim for Susan’s iPhone .15€ later we where back online but no out of country texts allowed unless we paid for a further package which we decided not to take.
During this period the alarm and anti theft device on Hetty Hymer decided to pack up and had to be overridden before we could move. On the following morning as we where about to leave the alarm system came back on line but the sat nav would not take us to a sensible location using co-ordinates and we had to look up addresses . Then the indicators acted up with a bulb failure so we pulled into a garage to change the bulb but on removal it was ok so reinserted and all was fine . As we needed fuel sometime in the next 100 km Susan decided now was the time to fill up even if the price was expensive . So 50€ later nearly full and I checked the tyre pressures and off to Salamanca and a camp site.
TOAST the joy of mains electric :-))
