Briefly Burgos

The roads are so much better than UK J says ..The Spaniards seem to be spending their way out of recession as we head for Burgos . It’s a Sunday and the roads are clear of traffic …Wonderful mountain vistas every where
The north of Spain is hilly to say the least ,green with off road villages temping one off the planned route ..just a lovey drive
Satnav took us into Burgos …The staging post for pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage …and a trading centre between the Interior and the ports of the north and as it was Sunday not much traffic to worry me …we found the central car parks but underground and Hetty is a tall girl ..not to worry J had seen a parking spot about 2 k out near the castle park..Walked into Burgos ..another wonderful centre as the town planners left it alone to its medieval history pulling stuff down and building’s still the medieval ancient city with the cathedral soaring above the square ..see photo …4 mile walk there and back and off to the hidden Spain as it’s called …Personally I think the whole of Northern Spain is better by far than the Costa of choice …off to Lerma
